I’ve always felt a special connection to things of the past.
Proof: My appreciation to Golden Oldies music triggered by listening to radio as a kid with the parents every Sunday, my fascination with history resulting to me visiting Egypt early this year, my love for classic novels and tales of eras gone by through movies.
Lately I was in an Audrey Hepburn movie binge getting acquainted with her lesser-known films in the 1950s (Love in the Afternoon, anyone?) and everytime I see her in those ladylike dresses and silhouettes I just couldn’t help but imagine myself living in that era. I know I’ve said this many time before but I truly belong to this age – the necklines, the midi skirts and the matching accessories. I just love them so much.
Another thing that’s loveable in her movies? The Paris factor. Yes, I would love to time travel back to Paris in the 1950s wearing her exact resized dresses as I don’t have her miniscule waist. 😅 So for this second installment of Funny Face, let’s once again imagine I’m in a flower shop in Paris with my imaginary photographer boyfriend saying “Alright Jo, it’s spring. You’re in love. Now turn around.” 😅
It was a good opportunity to visit also a popular flower market in Manila called Dangwa. Been raring to go ever since and I just love how cheap the flowers are here. Enjoy the photos. 💐
