Name a more iconic role of Audrey Hepburn than Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, I’ll wait. In fact, I’m one of those people who’ve seen pictures of Audrey in that famous LBD (little black dress) prior to seeing the movie itself. But however iconic that image is, Holly’s character is hardly something I can relate to. Come to think of it, the character is even a far cry from Audrey’s personality.
Although I’d like to say I see a little bit of myself in every Audrey Hepburn film characters (yes, and that includes Holly’s bold fashion sense), I’d like to say that Jo Stockton is a character that resonates with me the most. If you’re Jo, you are an untamable wanderlust, most likely get a crush on your school teacher, good at everything you try, prefer reading over television and adore pure beauty and authenticity.
And for that very reason, I was inspired to recreate scenes from Audrey Hepburn’s most beautiful movie. (If you haven’t already, you can catch Part 1 and Part 2 here and here). Oh and have I mentioned that Jo dances too? Oh yes, she does. That scene in the movie is something I couldn’t recreate though (lol) so I guess I should just stick to my dance routines in the gym and for this installment, stick to one of Audrey’s iconic off-duty look – the simple black on black ensemble.
I must say it was rather fun doing this mini project for the blog and I would love to recreate some other looks from her other movies in the future. Thanks for reading. 🙂
