After having doubts about this supposed weekly feature on this platform, I have decided on keeping Weekend Reading as a way to share a few thoughts (if there are) on some of my other personal interests. I know that it’s kind of demotivating looking at social media newsfeed right now with the world events to start so let me start my links sharing with:
The Happy Broadcast. Their blurb says: Anxiety-free news. A counter-hate and fear project that features positive news from around the world. Plus, they have the cutest illustrations. Check out their Instagram page here.
Travel. Cheap Destinations Per Month. It’s only the start of the year and if you’re like me whose goal is to cross off a new destination each year on a budget, then let this guide help you on planning where it’s cheapest to go per month. My birth month (where I usually take time off ) is in Hawaii. Where’s yours?
Cooking. Plant-based recipe. My special dish for the last holidays was a healthy plant-based recipe from 3 Sources. Check out the recipe here and my actual prepared dish here.
Royal News. Harry & Meghan Steps Down as Royals. Breaking news from the Royal Family, Harry and Meghan have decided to step back as “senior royals” and become financially independent according to their Instagram post. After following their life for sometime, as a fan I can only feel happiness for them in this decision and wish their happiness. And to leave no room for funding issues and such, they have clarified some questions in their website here.
Social Media Star. Li Ziqi. We’re all guilty about following (or sometimes obsessing over) an online social media personality for different reasons, right? But it’s disappointing when these people lose themselves or their platform to endorsements/ advertisements. It was fascinating to learn about this 20-year old girl named Li Ziqi from China known as “Oriental Lifestyle Foodie” who blogs about her everyday life in the village with her grandparents. I’ve never seen something so authentic and whose lifestyle I wanna achieve (probably next to Jamie Beck of Annstreetstudio I guess, hehe). I hope her videos inspire you too.
Mental Health. I personally came in contact with a friend who is very open about being clinically diagnosed depressed person. I must admit I wasn’t prepared for the encounter and did what I do know best by just listening and asking questions over coffee. If ever you come in contact with persons having anxiety attacks, this article may be helpful as it also includes a list of not to say to a victim.
Saving the best for last,
Climate Change. I know you need not another post for all the depressing things that are happening in Australia right now. While donations are good and helpful, I’m not here to post anything about giving donations but rather to spread information about the Earth’s bright future. You can read it up here.
